ഈന്ത് പൊടി
കേരളത്തിൽ പ്രത്യേകിച്ച് മലബാറിൽ കണ്ട് വരുന്ന ഒരു മരമാണു ഈന്ത്. പഴുത്ത് പാകമായ ഈന്തിൻകായ കുറുകെ മുറിച്ചു വെയിലത്ത് ഉണക്കി പൊടിച്ചു ഉണ്ടാക്കിയെടുക്കുന്നതാണ് ഈന്ത് പൊടി. ഇതിൻ്റെ വിത്തുകളും ഇലയും ആയൂർവേദ ഗുണങ്ങളുള്ളവയായി കരുതപ്പെടുന്നു. പിത്തം, നീരുവീക്കം വാദം, എന്നീ രോഗങ്ങളുടെ ചികിത്സക്ക് ഫലപ്രദമായി ഉപയോഗിച്ചു വരുന്നു. വിപണിയില് ഇത് സാഗോ ഫ്ലോർ (Sago Flour ) എന്ന പേരില് അറിയപ്പെടുന്നു. പുട്ട്, പത്തിരി, ചപ്പാത്തി, ദോശ, ഹൽവ തുടങ്ങിയ വിഭവങ്ങള് ഈന്തിന് പൊടി ഉപയോഗിച്ച് തയ്യാറാക്കാം.
